Another high-energy month for the Dominion Movement!
This month we added some great-looking stickers to our arsenal. This didn't escape the notice of certain local vindictive tran(valued members of the community)nies.
Hundreds have gone up already, and they've been a great success – Dominion stickers will soon be a common sight all over Wellington.
We celebrated a few birthdays of members and friends this month. It's not the food we enjoy that counts, but the gains we lose along the way.
We enjoyed an ANZAC Day Dawn Service, followed by the main event at the National War Memorial. ANZAC Day reminds us of a romantic, indispensable quality which is essential to man. As consumerist society tries to crush this spirit to make us more easily-managed, events like ANZAC Day are a triumphant reassertion of the idealistic over the material. It is a roar from the past, which doesn't fit neatly into some economic theory or cynical social engineering scheme. It tells us that we have a great heritage, a purpose passed down through generations, father to son and mother to daughter. It is the year's greatest reminder that we are the culmination of countless generations of struggle, and that it is our duty to continue that struggle, to take our place in that unbroken chain, and create a better world for future generations.
The AIDS Brigade made a song and dance about protesting ANZAC Day. Predictably, they were a no-show. Evidently they decided that sitting in bed smoking bongs was a more productive use of their time.
We also once again welcomed some new members into the movement this month. We continue to build an authentic grass-roots community on our own terms.
We don't depend on consumer-choice subcultures (OMG I like Rick and Morty too!) in order to relate to each other in some superficial, facile way. Instead we build bonds through sharing struggle and mutual self-improvement. We journey together toward a higher ideal, rising above the cultural and spiritual rot trying to pull us down toward baseness and mediocrity.
Shake off the drudgery of modernity, join the community, and become a greater version of yourself. Join us!
